Conatural Lip Scrub | Review

During the winters, the air starts to lose it's moisture and that's how we end up with dry and chapped lips. But if you're like me and you experience the dryness of lips all year round because you're too lazy to drink 8 glasses of water a day, then this product is for you.

About the product:
Treat your lips to a deliciously sweet treatment with our organic exfoliating scrub. Sugar gently scrubs and polishes, while almond oil hydrates to unveil supple, baby soft lips.
Antioxidants in vanilla essential oil prevent free radical damage and fine lines around the lip line. Regular use evens out and brightens lip color.

Usage:
Apply a coat to lips and lightly scrub in soft, circular motions, then rinse off with water or wipe off with a damp cloth.

Let me start off by saying that I was a little skeptical about this product since I heard mixed reviews about Conatural. The products worked for some people and for others, were a total waste of money. I decided to give it a try because ever since I moved to Islamabad, my lips have become very dry and flaky.
About the packing: I love how beautifully packed all Conatural products are. It's so colorful and the jar containing the scrub is sturdy, not made of cheap plastic.
I like that the scrub has different size of sugar granules, and does not feel harsh on the lips. The smell is oh so amazing, it smells like vanilla and cookies combined. It does not have a chemically smell at all.
You need a little bit of the scrub for your lips and it does an amazing job. My lips feels so moisturised after washing the scrub off that I don't even need to apply a lip balm. The product claims to evens out and brightens the lip color but I've been using it for over 2 month now and have not noticed any difference in the color of my lips but it doesn't really matter because all I want is soft lips. Period.
And did I mention it is Paraben free!

Final verdict:
This lip scrub has become my holy grail product. My lips have never felt so soft. I love the smell, the texture, the result, basically, everything about it. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a lip scrub that actually works.
Keep in mind this is no magic potion that's gonna keep your lips soft and smooth forever. Drink lots of water and use a lip balm regularly, to keep your lips from cracking. But use it before you apply a matt lipstick and you'll see the difference.

Price:
I got this scrub for pkr540 from Shaheen Chemist Islamabad.

Weekend Getaway - Bhurban

Last weekend we decided to take a short trip to Bhurban. We stayed at the Chinar Family Resort which is located on Bhurban road near PC Bhurban. This was our first time staying at this resort and we absolutely loved it. We stayed in room 204 which is a corner room and the view from the balcony is breathtaking. If you stay at the Resort, you can get access to the Chinar Golf Club as well.
(did you know the Chinar Golf Facility was opened in 1932 and is 11th highest in the world)

We ended up paying 13,920 pkr (incl.taxes) for a night. We were told that rate increased from 10,600 pkr to 13,920 pkr within a week because it was the tourist season.
We got complimentary breakfast for 2 person. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The restaurant is open for non-resort guests as well.
Since we were only visiting for one night, we decided to make the most of it and went to PC Bhurban for dinner, which is located 150-200 feet away. We ordered Chicken Ala Kiev and Chicken Parmesan, and enjoyed it while listening to live music.
Next day we checked out at 1pm and headed back home. On the way back we stopped at Gloria Jeans Coffee located at the Express Highway. It was one of the highlights of our trip. That place has some mesmerising views to offer. We had coffee, did a little photo-shoot and headed back home.

Why did we chose Chinar Family Resort over Pearl Continental?
PC Bhurban is one of the most crowded places in that area and the reason we took this trip was to stay at a place where we could relax and enjoy the view..away from the people :D

Overall we had a wonderful experience at the Chinar Family Resort. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quite place to relax.

Gharara Pants | IMO

Hello ladies,
For today's post I wanted to talk about a not-so-new trend in town, I'm sure everyone of you is aware about the Gharara pants. And for those of you who don't know what a Gharara is, according to Google
Gharara : a pair of loose trousers with pleats below the kneww, worn by women from South Asia, typically with a kameez.

Of all the people, I thought I'd be the last one to buy it because I could not imagine myself running errands while wearing a Gharara.
But I decided to step out of my comfort zone and got this white Gharara pants from Ethnic Pakistan for 1600pkr. (don't even get me started on how I felt when these pants went on sale 4 days later)
Anyhow, at first I didn't really know how to style it so it just sat in my closet for an entire week. Then one day I decided to take them out for a spin, I knew I'd either look like a fashionista or this whole situation could end up being a total fashion-disaster, either way, I was willing to take the risk.

Styling these white Gharara pants was a lot easier than I imagined. You could wear it with a solid or printed tunic, an A-line frok or a peplum top. I feel that the length of the top should be above your knee so the pleating could be visible otherwise this could look like an ordinary flared boot-cut pant. And we don't want people thinking we're basic, do we? I mean we got a Gharara pant, we want everyone to know that we're wearing it while sipping a cup of coffee or while buying groceries.

2 things you need to keep in mind before you decide to wear a Gharara pant:

(a) You need to shave your legs since these pants are very flowy from the knee below (I learned the hard way)

(b) Do not use a public toilet. The biggest struggle that I faced was using a public toilet while wearing these pants. The floor was wet, I ended up with a wet Gharara, which is worst than a dry Gharara pant.

But on the plus side, these pants are very comfortable to wear during summers.

Was it a Yay or a Nay?
If you ask me, I would like to keep my Ghararas reserved for formal occasions. So it was a Nay for me.

I paired my Gharara pants with a white tunic from Nishat

Meemmakeup is now Meem-jeem!

Hello people!

It feels weird to be writing this post, wow, can't believe it's been 2 years since I last posted on my blog. It was May 2015 but it feels like I published that post yesterday. My life took a 180 degree change in these past 2 years and I've never been happier, Alhumdulilah.

I started this blog because I wanted to have a platform where I could share my views and write about things that I like. My blog was previously known as 'meemmakeup' (M for makeup, and 'M' in urdu is 'meem' so... yeah, creative, I know).

But I decided to change the name because I didn't want to limit my blog to just makeup related posts. So I decided to change the name from meemmakeup to meem-jeem (my initials M-J) also I'm so excited to announce that I have converted my blog into a website, ah!
*happy dance*
It might not be a big deal for some of you but I've been wanting to do it since the day I started my blog.

So here's to many many more posts in the future related to lifestyle, fashion, beauty, travel etc.
And a big thank you to everyone for supporting me and for leaving comments on my page.
Oh and since it's Global Love day, I wanted to tell you that I love you guys *sending virtual hug*

Spread love wherever you go,
M
