L'Oreal Paris White Perfect (Day & Night) Cream | Review

Today I'm going to review the L'Oreal Paris White Perfect Day & Night cream. Different skin types requires different products, I've got really sensitive skin and when a product suits my skin type, I stick to it. L'Oreal white perfect cream is one of them. When I first bought the day cream I was least concerned about the 'whitening' part, all I wanted was a cream that would not make my face swell like a bubble fish.

The cream comes in a cardboard box which is more like a FAQ-board. All the information is stated on it including the ingredients. Inside the cardboard, is a quite heavy round jar. The packaging is sturdy and also contains an inner lid, which makes the jar travel friendly.

Day Cream:
You get 50ml cream in the jar. It claims that the texture of the cream is light and non-greasy. In my opinion the texture is creamy but the consistency is quite thick which makes you feel like it's going to be difficult blending it in. But the cream absorbs easily into the skin and it does not make my skin greasy at all. But make sure to apply a little amount of the cream or you'll end up looking like a long-lost-relative of Edward Cullen, and by that I mean it could leave a white cast on the face if applied too much. (you don't want to end up looking like a ghost or a vampire, do you?)
I apply this cream 15-20 minutes before going out, this way it gives time to settle down into the skin. I must say that it provides immediate radiance and glowy effect to the face, which I love. The cream does not feel heavy on the skin at all and works well on the dry patches of my face.
It is a moisturizer and a sunscreen, but it contains only 17SPF. It might be enough for you but I prefer using moisturizers with 30+ SPF. I've been using these creams for more than a year now and I can say that it has noticeably reduced the dark spots and made my skin tone even. Like I said before, I wasn't really concerned with the whitening part so I did not really pay attention to whether it made me 'snow whiter' or not. Also,I used to spend hours in the sun, so I don't think any cream could protect my skin from that much sunlight.

Night Cream:
I agree with what they claim about the texture of the night cream, it is fresh and non greasy. The consistency is gel like and absorbs instantly into the skin. Unlike the day cream, the night cream is bluish in color. I like how they did white-color for the day, and blue for the night. When I apply it onto my face I feel an instant soothing effect, like when you apply a peppermint spray to your feet and they feel light and fresh (yes, I compared my face to my feet, heh).
I've used quite a lot of night creams but this one is the best so far. It feels light on the face and again, you only need a pea sized amount. It's not greasy but a little is enough to cover your entire face.
Both, the day and the night cream, smells sweet but it does not bother me that much cause the smell lasts for about 10 minutes.
I kinda like the night cream better than the day cream, mostly because of the soothing effect that it has on the skin and it feels more lighter than the day cream.

(L) Night cream (R) Day cream

All in all I've used these two creams long enough that I can say it does help in reducing any discoloration on your face. I used to have an uneven skin tone because I wasn't eating enough healthy food (that's what my dermatologist said) after applying this (and force feeding myself vegetables) I could see a visible change in my skin, it got more healthier. I had few pimple marks on my face, it helped in lightening them as well. And as far as the whitening effect is concerned, guess you'll have to use it for yourself to find that out.

Would I repurchase it? Price?
I got both the creams for about 1700rs ($17). Yes, definitely going to use it for as long as I can't find an alternative to this cream.

The Good
Reduces uneven skin tone
Reduces brown spots on the skin
Absrorbs easily
Day cream has a built-in sunscreen
Feels light on the skin
Night cream gives instant soothing effect
Sturdy packaging

The Bad
A tad expensive
Smell might bother you
Day cream could leave a white cast

Fancy Fingers | Knuckle Rings

I have never been a fan of wearing rings. I've got like 4-5 rings in my collection, compared to the gazillion earrings and necklaces. I noticed celebrities wearing midi and above-the-knuckle rings and decided to give this trend a try. Not gonna lie I'm kinda obsessed now, I don't leave the house without my pretty little rings. The best thing is that you can either pile them up on your finger or just wear them separately.

Do you love this trend or are you not so fussed?
Lots of love x

Goodbye Dull & Frizzy Hair

Hello there, hope you're having a fun weekend.
I get asked a lot of questions about my hair, how it got so long and how I keep it healthy. I decided to do this post so I can share with you my new hair care routine that I've been using. Before I get into it, let me just say that some people have good hair genes and others, no matter how much they try, can never get their hair grow past the shoulders. Don't beat yourself up, and like they say, don't compare yourself to the girl in the magazine, in real life she doesn't look like the girl in the magazine. And that's why the world has hair extensions. haha.

They also say changing your shampoo doesn't do any good to your hair but sir, I disagree cause I changed my shampoo and that has worked miracles for my hair. I've been dyeing my hair ever since I was in O levels (I get bored easily, meh) and that's has resulted in dry, frizzy and lifeless hair. Also, I'm not a healthy eater, so I can't really blame coloring my hair. I used Loreal Paris Color Protection shampoo + conditioner for a long time and then switched to Loreal Paris Total Repair (5)/
I've been using this along with the Pantene leave-in-conditioner for the past 3 months now and my hair hasn't looked this good in so long. The frizz has reduced up to 60% and I can feel shine in my hair. Anything that makes my hair pretty, makes me happy.
The best part is that now I don't have to blow dry my hair after every wash, and that's quite something for me. I wash my hair 2-3 times a week and then apply a small amount of Pantene leave in conditioner, which is quite oily so make sure to apply very small amount of it.
This shampoo is a life saver specially during the humid weather when you straighten your hair but ends up looking like Lion King as soon as you step outside. I feel you, sister.

The shampoo claims that it is a solution for 5 hair problems:
Hair fall, dryness, roughness, dullness and split ends.
Except for the hair fall, it has fixed the other 4 problems to some extent so I'm gonna say it does live up to its claim.

In the end I would like to say that a whole lot of your hair health depends on what you eat. Not everyone is blessed with a healthy skin and luscious hair, so make sure to eat lots of veggies and fruits. Below I'm just sharing few steps that are part of my hair care routine.

  • Use a silk pillow instead of a cotton one, avoids breakage while sleeping
  • Apply Saeed Ghani hair oil to your roots twice a week.
  • Mix almond oil with castor oil and apply it to the roots at least once a week to make your hair grow faster.
  • Mix 2 tbs of yogurt with almond oil and apply all over your hair, leave it for 20-25 mins before washing it out. Gives shine to the hair.
  • Avoid brushing wet hair, always use a wide tooth comb to brush your damp hair.
  • Always always always use a heat protectant before blow drying or straightening your hair. I use Tony n Guy.

P.S: I'm not saying that this hair care routine would work miracles for your hair as well because there are different types of hair. It may or may not work on an oily scalp or dry hair. But there's no harm in trying,eh?
And remember, don't hate your hair just cause you're having a bad hair day, haha.
Stay beautiful.
